This intervention project was designed and developed in the Antonio Nariño Departmental Educational Institution of the municipality of El Peñón Cundinamarca, with the aim of improving the reading comprehension of the students. After an analysis made to the results of the Saber tests, it was evidenced that the highest percentage of students present a minimum and insufficient level in the communicative competence -comprehension and textual interpretation. Reason for which the present intervention is based as a pedagogical strategy, where, through didactic activities, literary workshops, and use of some technological tools programmed within the didactic unit, it was possible to improve and strengthen the prediction, contextualization, attention, extraction of ideas, inferences, purposes, argumentation, validation, among others. Due to the importance of creating the reading habit, but especially to develop comprehension processes that lead to the construction of know1edge.
