The teaching of Natural Sciences has become a constant challenge for teachers and educational institutions in Colombia. In this degree work, the diagnosis of the institution where the pedagogical intervention was carried out is presented in the first instance. An approach is made to the current state of science performance in Colombia, assessed by state tests, and international tests. Afterwards, the theoretical referents are presented, which are based on some learning strategies that favor meaningful learning, such as inquiry-based science learning (ECBI), science learning based on problem solving, and the Science, Technology and Society (CTS) strategy. Finally, the results and conclusions of a pedagogical intervention based on the application of a didactic sequence are presented, which aimed to favor the development of basic skills of natural sciences such as inquiry, the use of scientific knowledge and the explanation of phenomena, starting from the understanding of the functioning of the human endocrine system. This sequence was designed taking into account the pedagogical approach of meaningful learning, an approach on which the PEI of the official educational institution in Bogotá is based, where the intervention is carried out.
