The earned value technique was applied at Aguas de Córdoba S.A. ESP, who is the company in charge of "ensuring that the hired works suit to the investment works plan, in terms of quality and quantity, through programming, execution, control and monitoring of activities that guarantee their optimal operation, ensuring the accomplishment of the objectives contemplated in the company" (Aguas de Córdoba SA ESP, 2016). The earned value technique was applied in an investment project in the company Aguas de Córdoba S.A. E.S.P., called "Construction of Sanitary Sewer Rush in the El Tambo District, Municipality of Montería, Department of Córdoba".
The application of this technique, guaranteed timely monitoring and control of investment projects. Likewise, it was based on the concepts of the international standard ISO 21508 of 2018, which guided the concepts, responsibilities and integration of the processes far the application of the earned value technique. Likewise, this application will allow Aguas de Córdoba S.A E.S. P, evaluate the performance of the project, in its three transversal lines: scope, time and cost, which will provide the necessary tools for decision making. Similarly, it will reduce uncertainty scenarios and facilitate risk mitigation in the different phases of the project.
