The fruit sector in the national and international contexts presents new conditions and demands according to globalization Such a situation needs to assess their strategies in the markets, an issue that is covered in this report because it is intended to perform the analysis of the sector according to a previous selection of sources, hosting the areas: economic, political, social and technological and collecting primary information through surveys and interviews to propose improvement actions that generate value to the sector. The conditions of the transnationality and fluctuation of the current economy in Colombia that include: free trade agreements, geopolitical and economic pressures, changes in the conditions of the market sectors, etc; they promote the generation of pertinent information so that the organizations, which place their work in the different sectors, have what is necessary to adapt to new contexts. Thus, the main objective of this work will be the characterization in the aforementioned areas of the fruit sector, aligning it with the conditions of internal and external trade and defining the opportunities for improvement of the sector, and then in the light of some theoretical postulates propose the challenges most important that should be assumed by the companies according to the market prospective.
