The discussion in Colombia about secondary education has been stronger in coverage than in quality, this has led to the question What factors are those that affect educational achievement? This research aims to establish the determinants of educational achievement of students of secondary: study of cases in the Educational lnstitution New beat in 2017, which was divided into 3 chapters that seek, first, to analyze international and national studies referred to the factors that determine the academic achievement of students; secondly, to make a descriptive and space analysis of the socio-economic characteristics of the students under study and, thirdly, to determine which factors influence the overall result in the tests 11 of the 20 students analyzed of the New Latir Educational lnstitution in Cali .
