Descripción: In november 2016, the signing of the final agreement for the termination of conflict and the construction of a stable and lasting peace between the FARC-EP and the government of Colombia was signed. The historical event has revived the national debate of the war and the ways in which peace-building processes have been conceived as a feasible horizon for the country. The approach, in which the bases of the agreement is build, relates to what the government called territorial peace, including the transformation of the conflict from the strengthening of the state's capacity and the promotion of citizen participation, as fundamental elements for the sustainability of peace building processes (Jaramillo, 2014). This investigation embraces the discussion by pointing out that the combination of these two strategies constitutes a more realistic formula to address the challenges and needs of the territories with histories of violence based on a case study compared between the territories of Catatumbo and Caquetá.
