- The current investigation attends to the analysis of the Interpretive Frames of Collective Action as a diagnostic basis of the Vision 2030 macro project of Tourism in Colombia. The main purpose aims to identify the shared meanings around the problem of tourism planning in the country. The process was attended by key actors from both the governmental and private sectors that were called by the Hotel and Tourism Association of Colombia -"Cotelco". They contributed to the National and Regional scope from a critical view, to the possible solutions seeking for future actions in the development of this activity. The investigation highlights the concepts of governance, sustainability and competitiveness as transversal axes of tourism planning in Colombia. The methodological process is explained and the ideas and feelings ofthe participants are exposed according to the regions of interest, their role and their perspective at a national level. The development of interpretive frameworks and their contribution as a tool for analyzing the current situation is also addressed. The results shown here can be used as an input for new research projects, to be replicated or to deepen new scenarios of touristic research applied to a territory, a fact or a particular issue.
