You Might be a Monster & Other Stories I Made Up

Por: | Fecha: 2012

What if you combined Shel Silverstein and Tim Burton with a dollop of Dr. Seuss? Youd get Attaboy. With his theatrical eye for the absurd and unbridled paintbrush, Attaboys hilarious anthology of poems will amuse readers of all ages. Off-the-wall characters (a child who is a sock magnet) meet the adorably peculiar (a hugging cactus) and the bizarre (zombie clowns). Then there's the title story. Because of his beastly behavior, Gustav's parents hire an expert to determine if their son is truly a monster! Enjoy hidden jokes and hilarious wordplay in this collection from an irreverent twenty-first century imagination. "Attaboy's creepy cool monsters are an insane delight. They'll leap off the page, squirm through your optic nerve, and haunt your brain forever. And that's a good thing." - Mark Frauenfelder, founder of Boing Boing "If you like weird fun, then you'll love this book. It's like a candy store for your brain and eyes. A creative explosion of colorful stories, poems, and characters." - Liam Lynch creator of The Sifl & Olly Show, director "Tenacious D. and the Pick of Destiny" and Sarah Silverman's "Jesus is Magic"

When they arrive, they discover that the once bustling waters have turned into a ghost town! The colorful coral has turned an eerie white and buildings lay empty and crumbling. The Octonauts explore the different reef neighborhoods, from mangrove forests to seagrass meadows, to learn about the plants and animals that make up this strange tropical world. Will the crew be able to find clues to solve the mystery of the Great Ghost Reef? Octonauts Vol #3 Frown Fish

Por: | Fecha: 2012

"The original Octonauts books have inspired a popular animated television series broadcast worldwide. In their third storybook adventure, the Octonauts meet a frowning fish who's sad expression is making everyone around him glum. Our heroes' challenge is to cheer him up by sharing their favorite and fun pastimes. We bet you didn't know that Sauci Dog was a shutterbug, Dr. Shellington liked miniature golf, and Peso Penguin loved to play music. But can the playful crew make their new friend smile? Blame it on the Olympics. With Beijing behind us, thoughts turn to Vancouver, then Meomi, the team that designed the 2010 mascots. Next thing you know, we remember there is a new Octonauts book coming out in October. Why write about clown fish when theres a frown fish that needs cheering up? In The Octonauts and the Frown Fish by Meomi, the underwater crew use activities such as a baking marathon to entice their new friend to smile. Another affordable piece for the adult collector of cute. - Art MoCo Reviews "Too many children's books talk down to kids, thinking that talking on their level equates to dropping IQ points. Its refreshing to read The Octonauts and the Frown Fish, a smart and entertaining kids bookits fun and teaches a lesson to look past the exterior and appreciate whats inside. The story follows the path of the adorable, underwater Octonauts who come under attack from a sad, lonely monster and later help the creature find others like it under the sea. A smarter person would say there's a perfect allegory buried beneath the pages -- something about how bullies have fears like everyone else and how wonderful it is to be unique. But I always find myself just getting lost in the illustrations by team Meomi -- made up of illustrators Vicki Wong and Michael Murphy. It's great to find a book that appeals to both kids and adults -- even if the appeal is for different reasons. In other words, these are the best. children's book. animals. ever. I can't get enough of themI can read this book for hours -- and have. - SFGate.com "The Octonauts has gained an international cult following for its beautifully rendered and vibrant illustrations (and refreshingly sassy characters)." - Vancouver Magazine "The characters are cuddly and quirky, and the moral of the story is as good as a hug from a dear one saying `I love you for the individual you are.' We hope that's a joy you'll never outgrow." - Rivet Magazine", the Octonauts explore a colorful world.
