This document describes a pedagogical experience performed in a classroom with students from 501 course in the afternoon school time at the Francisco de Paula Santander IED, locality 15 Antonio Nariño, in the Bogotá city, in the Social Studies subject. The main objective of this intervention is to develop a comprehensive unit based on the theoretical requirements proposed by pedagogical focus, teaching for understanding from the question How to present the fundamental rights and the importance that these ones have for the Colombian citizen to students of the 501-course considering that the Teaching for Understanding is the institutional pedagogical focus? The performance of this unit of understanding pretends to reduce the rupture that exists between the theoretical postulates of the Teaching for Understanding and the classes that occur in the institution. The pedagogical experience has its starting point in the second semester of 2016 with the development of the institutional diagnostic, then the generating problem is defined, later the action route is determined in order to implement the classroom intervention in the year 2017. Finally, the systematization and the projection for the support of the proposal take place in the year 2018.
