Vengeance of Vampirella #21
El “Papel Periódico de la Ciudad de Santafé de Bogotá", es considerado la primera publicación periodística de la nación colombiana. Fue fundado por Manuel del Socorro Rodríguez, el 9 de febrero de 1791, por encargo del Virrey José de Ezpeleta. Contó con un total de 265 ejemplares y circuló hasta el 6 de enero de 1797 sumando en total seis años de existencia. Los primeros 259 números, a excepción del número uno, fueron editados en la Imprenta Real de Don Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros, cada número constaba de ocho páginas y circulaba los viernes; a partir de 1796 se editó en la Imprenta Patriótica. El “Papel Periódico” fue un espacio para el encuentro intelectual entre las élites políticas, su objetivo principal era ofrecer a los lectores santafereños “utilidad común” para la patria. No obstante, toda publicación debía ser aprobada por las autoridades reales. El periódico contó con 146 subscriptores, entre ellos personajes ilustres como: como José Celestino Mutis (director de la expedición botánica), Manuel Villavicencio (gobernador de los Llanos), Pedro Fermín de Vargas (escritor), Antonio Nariño, Francisco Antonio Zea y Antonio María Rosillo. Los artículos del “Papel Periódico”, fueron tema de discusión en diversas tertulias capitalinas.
