Así como un buen coctel requiere la justa medida y la mezcla perfecta, un libro de cuentos y relatos también necesita cuidado y precisión. Coctel Literante, fruto de los talleres de escritura creativa de la Biblioteca Pública El Tintal en Kennedy, Bogotá, es una cuidadosa recopilación de textos acompañados por mediadores y escritores reconocidos como Gustavo Adolfo Garcés y el ilustrador Blandy Domínguez Giraldo. Cada relato refleja las experiencias de las usuarias y visitantes de la biblioteca, desde historias ambientadas en Bogotá hasta preguntas y reflexiones profundas.

El propósito de este trabajo es analizar cómo los autores de cuentos infantiles colombianos, con sus propuestas estéticas, abordan la familia, y hacer una mirada que desentrañe cómo son las relaciones familiares y qué tipos de familias encontramos. Después de una búsqueda concienzuda se eligieron, para ser analizadas, las obras de un periodo que va a partir del año 1979 hasta el 2011 y para niños entre los 6 y los 12 años. Se parte del concepto de cuento, su origen, de cómo surgió la literatura infantil en el mundo, qué aportes le hace a la formación del niño, cuál es la labor de lo maravilloso y lo fantástico en los cuentos y finalmente el proceso de creación de literatura infantil en Colombia. El tema del cuento se articula con el tema de la familia, y allí se mira el concepto de familia en Colombia desde varios puntos de vista como el de la Iglesia Católica, el Estado y la Sociología, disciplina desde donde se habla de la subjetivación del niño. Basada en estos temas se hace el análisis de doce cuentos infantiles colombianos teniendo en cuenta elementos determinantes como son: qué tipos de familia aparecen en los cuentos. Cómo es la relación de los integrantes de la familia. Cuál es la condición social y económica de la familia. Qué clases de conflictos se plantean (sociales, jurídicos, económicos, políticos) y a qué profundidad se tratan.
