En medio, con el número 23, el ecuatoriano Luis Calderón Gallardo, medalla de oro. A la derecha, con el número 128, el peruano Domingo Ticona, medalla de plata. Esta competencia se llevó a cabo en el Estadio Alfonso López Pumarejo (Ciudad Universitaria). Fotografías de esta prueba se publicaron en la revista Cromos, Vol. XLVI, No. 1133, del 13 de agosto de 1938.

Actividades náuticas en la Represa del Muña.
Entre 1941 y 1944, Empresas Unidas de Energía Eléctrica, entidad encargada del suministro de energía en Bogotá, adelantó la construcción de la Represa del Muña, en el municipio de Sibaté. La obra fue ejecutada por la firma Archila & Brunasso Ltda. Hacia 1945, la represa se posicionó como un lugar apto y reconocido para la práctica de pesca y de deportes náuticos. Hacia 1947 se fundó el “Club del Muña” que contó con un edificio diseñado por los arquitectos Obregón & Valenzuela. Según un artículo publicado en la Revista Proa, en 1948 el club contaba con “19 botes Lightning, 8 Dingnies, 6 botes de motor y muchos remos, en los que un centenar de asociados periódicamente se disputan apreciados trofeos, en reñidas competencias” (Proa, N° 16-17, Octubre y Noviembre de 1948).
