Enmarcada en las narraciones orales escénicas, se caracteriza a la stand up comedy y sus elementos como son el humor, el tipo de discurso, el lenguaje verbal y corporal, [parte fundamental de la interacción humana], como una representación que conlleva una acción comunicativa por parte del comediante, en la que prima la identidad de este, con el propósito de dirigirse a un público para difundir un mensaje específico. Ahora bien en el campo de la comunicación educación, la stand up comedy por tratarse de una forma de discurso, monogestionado, pero a la vez interactivo, que genera reflexión y opinión crítica por parte de la audiencia a la cual se dirige, y que llega a los jóvenes a través de medios de comunicación usuales y accesibles para ellos, como son la televisión o el internet, hace que se ponga en consideración, el que esta representación y sus contenidos sirvan como apoyo de una propuesta pedagógica en el ámbito de la enseñanza, relacionando elementos de la cultura, lo social y lo político, con imaginarios y subjetividades de los jóvenes, permitiéndoles como ciudadanos del entorno que habitan expresar estas experiencias comunicativas.
