Vista del edificio donde funcionaba el Batallón Junín, en Popayán, Antigua Casa de la Moneda. Esta edificación fue ocupada en el periodo colonial por la Casa de Moneda de Popayán, uso que conservó hasta el siglo XIX. A principios del siglo XX, fue ocupada por regimientos militares. En la década del treinta del siglo XX, la edificación fue modificada y parte de la construcción se destinó como sede del Batallón Junín, como se registra en esta fotografía. Posteriormente, pasó a ser sede de la policía seccional. No obstante, fue gravemente afectada por el terremoto de 1983 y, Luego, debido a su mal estado fue demolida. Durante varios años el predio fue usado como parqueadero. Finalmente, se proyectó y construyó allí el Centro de Convenciones Casa de la Moneda, inaugurado en 2015.
