Jane Kendeigh
An inspiring graphic novel about Jane Kendeigh, a nurse who helped wounded soldiers in combat zones during World War II. During World War II, the United States fight against the Japanese on islands in the Pacific was intense and deadly. To help respond to casualties in battle, the U.S. Navy trained 122 nurses to aid wounded soldiers in combat zones. The first nurse to do so was Jane Kendeigh, a twenty-two-year-old woman from Ohio. In March 1945, Kendeighs first assignment was to help soldiers fighting in the Battle of Iwo Jimaa fierce battle with many casualties. With bravery and determination, she and other nurses helped thousands of soldiers in that battleand many more in the Battle of Okinawa. Togo Takes the Lead
In January 1925, many people in Nome, Alaska, and the surrounding area were sick and dying from an outbreak of diphtheria. A supply of medicine was found but there was one problemit was hundreds of miles away. The only way to get it to Nome was by dogsled. Ride along with the heroic sled dog Togo and his owner, Leonhard Sepalla, as they make a dangerous journey across Alaskas unforgiving wilderness to deliver lifesaving medicine to the people of Nome.

Moko to the Rescue
