BY THE HORNS is an epic, sci-fi fantasy comic book series set in a dangerous world of magic and technology written by Markisan Naso, illustrated by Jason Muhr and colored by Andrei Tabacaru, published monthly by Scout Comics. Elodie hates unicorns. For nearly a year, she's dedicated her life to killing them all for trampling her husband. Exiled from her village home for selfishly neglecting her duties, Elodie and her companion, Sajen, search the continent of Solothus to exact bloody revenge. But to make unicorns extinct she'll need to fake an alliance with Zoso and Rigby, two of the very beasts she hates most, and battle four wind sorcerers who are extracting magic from all the mystical creatures on the continent. With the ability to rip off the unicorn horns and combine them to form wizard-slaying weapons, Elodie has a fighting chance. But will she decide to use those gifts to save magic in the world? Or destroy all the unicorns left alive?

Comics Dementia: A Love and Rockets Book
The twelfth volume of The Complete Love and Rockets Library, Comics Dementia, collects unexpected treasures, oddities, and rarities from outposts of the Love and Rockets galaxy, by one of Earth's greatest living cartoonists, Gilbert Hernandez. Saints, sinners, and the Candide-like Roy mingle in jungles, in fables, in outer space: in cocktail lounges and living rooms. Ditko meets Melville meets Bob Hope -- but the party really starts bumping when the Alfred E. Neuman of the L&R-verse, Errata Stigmata, makes her entrance. Many of these stories haven't been available since their original appearance in comic shops in the 1990s.

Mort Cinder
Alberto Breccia is recognized as one of the greatest international cartoonists in the history of comics and Mort Cinder is considered one of his finest achievements. Created in collaboration with the Argentine writer Hector German Oesterheld, best known in the U.S. for his politically incendiary sci-fi masterpiece, the Eisner Award-winning The Eternaut, Mort Cinder is a horror story with political overtones. This episodic serial, written and drawn between 1962-1964, is drawn by Breccia in moody chiaroscuro. The artist's rubbery, expressionistic faces capture every glint in the eyes of the grave robbers, sailors, and slaves that populate these stories; while the slash of stripes of prisoners' uniforms, the trapeziums of Babylon, and more create distinct and evocative milieus.

Alberto Breccia's Dracula
Alberto Breccia's Dracula is composed of a series of brutally funny satirical misadventures starring the hapless eponymous antihero. Literally defanged (a humiliating trip to the dentist doesn't help), the protagonist's glory days are long behind him and other, more sinister villains (a corrupt government, overtly backed by American imperialism) are sickening and draining the life out of the villagers far more than one creature of the night ever could. This is the first painted, full-color entry in Fantagraphics' artist-focused Alberto Breccia Library, and the atmospheric palette adds mood and dimension. It also includes a sketchbook showing the artist's process. Dracula has no co-author, and so Breccia's carnivalesque vision is as pure Breccia as it gets. Created during the last of a succession of Argentine military dictatorships (1982-1983), this series of short comics stories ran in Spain's Comix Internacional periodical in 1984. The moral purpose of Breccia's expressionistic art style is made explicit; he shows that every ounce of his grotesque, bloated characters' flesh and blood has been cruelly extracted from the less fortunate.
